Although summer has just started we are beginning to see autumn/winter looks hitting the catwalks. Of course I tuned in for some of NY fashion week, and I loved what I saw! The fall runways were filled with existing trends to new looks and ideas. We saw polka-dots and graphic prints, to floor sweeping hems and high shine, polished looks. Here are a few of my favourite upcoming trends for Fall 2011.
Mod Squad: This past spring/summer we saw the come-back of the 70′s and this autumn season we get a flashback to the 60′s. One of my favourite looks- mod. I remember a few years when I dressed up as a go-go dancer and I found an actual dress from the 60′s on eBay. Too bad I didn’t keep it, would have come in handy! The trend shows off patent shift dresses, double breasted peacoats, and Peter Pan collars.
Metallic: Love little, shiny cocktail dresses? This trend is definitely up your alley then. Some of the season’s best looks came from Balmain an Calvin Klein. Look for sparkle, shine, beading, and tons of metallics.
Graphic: This season plan to see bold, mixed prints. The craze started off at NY Fashion Week and the following weeks saw a flurry of patterns from various designers. Love geometrics! Be bold and try a geometric coat, or go subtle with pair of patterned tights. Read the rest of this entry »

White wedding dresses tend to be unusual in Chinese, Hindu, Vietnamese, Korean, as well as Japanese traditions, because white is the color associated with mourning as well as death within those cultures.
